Flat Creek Preserve and Wetlands Walk
The Rustic Inn Creekside Resort and Spa is uniquely situated on prime section of Teton County’s iconic Flat Creek as it leaves the National Elk Preserve and begins its path through the Town of Jackson. In 2012, the resort took on a momentous conservation effort to both benefit integral local wildlife and provide the opportunity for resort guests to enjoy the natural landscape in its prime expression. By acquiring additional land along Flat Creek and to the northwest of it along Saddle Butte, The Rustic Inn property reached its current 12-acre footprint and worked with local and national organizations such as Trout Unlimited, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality, and the Wyoming Wildlife & Natural Resources Trust to carefully restore the natural vegetation, water flow, and add The Wetlands Walk as a way for guests to explore the area without negative impact. In addition, during the right seasons guests can enjoy fly fishing, cozy fire pits, sunny picnics, and scenic outdoor events without having to leave The Rustic Inn Resort. Many have enjoyed the chance sightings of migrating mammals and birds or even the family of otters that take up a longer-term residence here on property.
